All Products Made Nice

is a new Danish / American band. The band released in 2010 the EP Aerobics & Despair on vinyl and digitally on Pad & Pen Records. After a long series of concerts and loads of hours spent writing new material, the band is now back with two new singles and no shortage of ambitions. The band contacted the two successful producers, Kennie Takahashi (Gnarls Barkley, Beck, Broken Bells) and Scott Solter (Okkervil River, The Mountain Goats, John Vanderslice), for the mixing of the singles. The two agreed to work with the band since they quickly became interested in the music. Furthermore the trumpet player Jacob Valenzuela (Calexico, Arcade Fire) is playing on one of the singles.

"We didn't count on any response, since we know they get a lot of inquiries. But they really liked the songs and started working on them pretty quickly." says Asger Christensen from APMN.

Record release in 2011

The band plans to release a full-length album in 2012, and so choosing two different producers for the singles was quite intentional.

"We've got two very different songs here, so we chose to give Takahashi and Solter a song each to put their unique fingerprint on. This way we've been able to go in two musically different directions, and in this process we've come closer to defining the sound that we'd like on our upcoming album." says Iris Marie Jakobsen from APMN.

The band's sound is created in the meeting between drums / synth and unorthodox instruments like Irish bouzouki, viola and trumpet. Together they create a complex yet homogenous and danceable sound that can be described as melodious pop songs with a twist of various genres.

Radio host Carsten Holm from the Danish national radio channel P3 wrote the following: "The band can count to numbers other than 4 – and it's so refreshing on the Danish scene to be enriched with a little skewness – and it doesn't take a lot. Personally, I've never been familiar with a lot of other meters than the classic ones, so I don't know how All Products Made Nice actually count – but it works well because they effortlessly jump right into it… It's something like this that can make Danish music a tad more exciting."

As a relatively new band All Products Made Nice has yet to play on the larger scenes, but the band's members have all played in various constellations at places like Roskilde Festival, SPOT festival, Start Festival, Skanderborg Festival plus a variety of prominent foreign festivals / concerts such as Sonisphere Festival (UK), Popkomm in Berlin, BBC Radio 1 live radio session, Hoco Fest in Arizona.
